Who I work with

Most of my work is for businesses like these.

Success story

Riverside Tattoo Company has great artists, a 4.9 rating and close to 200 Google reviews. But after the shop moved to Chapman Highway, its website couldn't tell Google or customers what it was or where to find it.

I fixed the pages people use to find the shop and book, and I put the new address everywhere Google looks for it.

WHAT A CUSTOMER SAWWHAT THEY SEE NOW
Tapping "Contact" showed an error page
Google didn't know where the shop was
A homepage that never said "tattoo" or "Knoxville"
A Google listing titled "Discover Artistic Ink"
Nothing for people searching from Seymour or Maryville
What you get

Your fix list, in plain English.

Every item names the page, what's wrong, and what it's likely costing you, with a price to fix it. You pick what's worth doing, and I do the work.

What I do

I help customers find you on Google, and reach you once they do.

№ 01

Get found on Google

A Google Business Profile that's complete and current, pages for the towns you serve and the work you do, titles that say what you are, and answers to the questions customers google at 9pm.

№ 02

Fix what's quietly broken

Misspelled title tags, links that go nowhere, copyright dates stuck three years back. Each one is small, but together they tell customers nobody's minding the store. I find them, list them, and fix them.

№ 03

Stop losing after-hours leads

Online booking, instant quotes, and AI that answers "do y'all service Maryville?" at 9 on a Saturday night. Your website keeps working the hours you can't. More on the automation side →

Found around town

Real things I found on Knoxville business websites this summer.

✗A plumbing company's blog title tag spells their own name wrong: "Plumbong." It shows that way in Google.
✗A company that's been in business since 1969 has a homepage with about 130 words on it. Google has almost nothing to rank.
✗A health practice's "Book Appointment" button links to nothing. It's a dead end on their busiest page.
✗A pest control company closes at 4pm with no way to book or get a quote online, and bugs don't keep office hours.
✗A roofer lists nine towns they serve. Eight of them have no page, so Google shows their competitors instead.

I've audited more than 30 Knoxville small-business sites. Most of the problems are like these: small, specific and fixable. Odds are your site has a few too. Read the full write-up →

Mark Indelicato, owner of 865 SEO, in Knoxville TN

I'm Mark Indelicato. Knoxville local, marketing and web guy by trade. I work with the businesses I drive past every day.

I started this because I kept seeing the same thing around town: excellent businesses, some with 30, 40 or 50 years of reputation, losing customers to newer competitors. The competitors weren't better businesses. They just had better websites.

Closing that gap doesn't take a big agency contract. It takes somebody local who will look at your site, tell you plainly what's wrong, and fix it. When you email me, I'm the one who writes back.

Straight answers

Questions people ask me.

What does an SEO consultant in Knoxville cost?

The site check and fix list are free. A one-time Google profile tune-up is $500. Monthly upkeep is $300 a month with a 3-month minimum, then month to month. Website repairs and automation get a fixed quote before any work starts, and there's no open-ended hourly billing. You'll know exactly what needs doing and what it costs before you spend a dollar.

Do I need a new website, or can mine be fixed?

Usually fixed. Most Knoxville small-business sites I audit don't need a rebuild. They need titles that say what the business does, pages for the towns they serve, and a way for customers to book or get a quote. That's repair work, not construction.

How is a solo consultant different from hiring an agency?

The person who audits your site, quotes the work, and does the work is the same person: me. There are no account managers or handoffs. The tradeoff is that I only take on a few clients at a time.

Do you only work with businesses in Knoxville?

Knoxville and anywhere the 865 reaches, including Maryville, Oak Ridge, Farragut, Sevierville, and the rest of East Tennessee. Remote works fine, but being local means I can also just come by.
