Success story · Riverside Tattoo Company · South Knoxville

The shop moved. The website never said where.

Riverside Tattoo Company is a well-loved shop with close to 200 Google reviews and a 4.9 rating. When it moved out of the Old City to Chapman Highway, the website did not move with it. Here is what I found and what I fixed.

The problem

Good reviews. A website that couldn't tell Google anything.

The shop did everything right in the chair. The reviews show it. But online, the move had left a gap. The website never mentioned the new location, the contact page was broken, and the business details Google reads behind the scenes had a blank where the address should be.

On top of that, listings around the web still pointed to the old Central Street address. So Google could find the shop on the map, but it had almost nothing on the website to confirm where it was or what it did.

When I scored the site in July, it came in at 21 out of 100.

What I did

Four fixes, in order of what mattered most.

№ 01

Put the new address everywhere it counts

I rebuilt the broken contact page with the address, phone, a map and directions. I also filled in the business details Google reads in the background, so the address, phone, map pin and the towns the shop serves are all spelled out.

№ 02

Gave every page a real title

Every main page now has a title that says what it is: the homepage, the artists page, each artist's booking page, aftercare, the convention and the merch shop. The key pages also say where. Those titles are what show up in Google results.

№ 03

Made the homepage say something

The homepage went from five words to a short, plain introduction: what the shop is, where it is, which nearby towns it is close to, and the styles the artists do. It also points people straight to booking.

№ 04

Answered the questions people ask

Where is the shop, how do I book, do you take walk-ins, is there a deposit. Those answers now live on the contact page, set up so Google and AI search tools can read them too.

Before and after

What a customer sees now.

When a customer wasWhat they saw in JulyWhat they see now
Tapping "Contact"An error pageThe address, hours, phone, a map, and answers to common questions
Looking up the address on GoogleA blank where the address should beThe full new address and a map pin
Reading the homepageFive words, nothing about tattoos or KnoxvilleWhat the shop does and where, right up top
Searching from a nearby townNo nearby towns mentionedSeymour, Maryville and Sevierville named on the site

Measured from the public website in July and again in November 2026. Anyone can check it.

Worth knowing

Most of this is small, and all of it was fixable.

None of these problems were about the shop's work. They were about the website not keeping up with the business. That is the most common thing I find on Knoxville small-business sites, and it is usually repair work, not a rebuild.
